Dr. Alli Hoppert has been passionate about eye care ever since she began working at her first job in the optical industry in 1998. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree and graduated with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2011 after completing clinical internships with Indian Health Services, Luke Air Force Base, and the Ophthalmology Department at the Mayo Clinic here in Arizona. In 2012 she completed a Primary Care Residency in Hospital Based Medicine with Indian Health Services at the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. Shortly after completing her residency, Dr. Hoppert accepted a full time faculty position at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry. During her tenure there, she served as both clinical and didactic faculty and specialized in teaching Ophthalmic Optics, and prep courses in optics for the National Board Exam in Optometry Part I.
Dr. Hoppert became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2014, an honor that less than 10% of practicing optometrists in the country hold. In June of 2015, she left academia to go into private practice and received a Service Award from the Dean of the College of Optometry for her dedication and contribution to the curriculum at the Arizona College of Optometry. She is a longtime member of the American Academy of Optometry and the Arizona Optometric Association. When it comes to caring for her patients, Dr. Hoppert believes that every person is a unique individual with distinct visual needs. Therefore, she tailors her exams to determine specific visual solutions to address each of her patient’s concerns, from prescribing specific lens designs and coatings, to discussing the visual ergonomics of each patient’s office setting.
Her practice philosophy is to empower her patients as consumers by educating them about their eyes and vision. To her, there is nothing more satisfying than helping her patients to become more visually comfortable and functional so they can be more efficient and effective in their daily lives. In addition to comprehensive eye exams, Dr. Hoppert performs soft contact lens fits, problem focused medical eye exams, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma work ups, pediatric eye exams, InfantSee Vision Assessments, and comprehensive dry eye work ups.
Because of Dr. Hoppert’s unique clinical background in the optical as well as in a hospital-based setting, she enjoys working the full scope of optometric care from troubleshooting difficult problems with progressive lenses and eyewear, to treating serious ocular diseases and injuries. Dr. Hoppert currently resides in Gilbert, AZ. She’s active in her church and the community, and enjoys, staying fit, travelling, exploring the southwest wilderness and Arizona’s live country music scene.
